Identity project
The Eyes of that day!

This project is about identity as a fact of being who you are, but not what people think you are. The analysis and the development of the project based on my own experience back home in Africa.
Whilst I was studying and working as an independent artist, one of the main project I had was about street children commonly called “Shegue” in D.R.Congo. These children were identified with all sort of awkward qualification and look. And no one in the majority of the community would approach them. Eventually they were rejected and abused. And the real matter that affected and drove them on the street stood unknown. But these children did not choice or ran out for pleasure, but because that was their only way to survive. However, getting to know their stories and experiences, I decided to start the project “Why not” in order to help them to raise a voice.

The objective is to raise awareness about child abuse; to fight against the abandon of children on the streets from my home country to the whole world. And to promote education and protection for all children around the world.
Thus, what I would like to convey through this project is a message of empathy towards children, with what I believe we could change the world and make it a better place for all human beings. And also, to show how great painting semi-abstract could be a better way to communicate. Technically the red and black colours pre-dominance is to illustrate the reality between life and deaf that these children on the street faced every single day. And to emphasis the issue for the whole world as we all concerned.
